The Playfair cipher at its introduction was considered unbreakable yet easy for even kids to understand.
Lieutenant Joseph O. Mauborgne, published the first recorded solution for breaking the Playfair cipher in 1914.

Today’s edition marks the beginning of a new era. Be sure to read this post in its entirety.
The prize: Four complimentary admissions to the Tesla Extended, the hour long version of the very popular 30 minute lost Tesla lab escape room. Guests may purchase additional admissions at $25 per person. Due to the difficulty level of this room variant, teams should have at least four or more to have a chance of successful completion.
Deadline: January 1, 2020
The prize will vary with difficulty level. Each post will announce its prize. Easy posts will still have 10% off any room except Jailbreak. Posts using historically “unbreakable” ciphers may offer up to four (4) spots in a select hour long room (including The Tesla Extended).
This feature will now be published around the first of the month. If someone somehow solves it before the month is up, a new one will be prepared and released on a subsequent Wednesday. Answers will be embargoed until the ciphertext is decoded or January 1, 2020, whichever occurs first. Limit one win per calendar year except for 10% off coupons. Uranus employees are not eligible to submit answers, but they may be guests of the winner.
P.S. Last week’s incredibly easy keyed Caesar cipher cryptographic coupon of 7/24/19 remains unsolved as of 7/31/19. Publication of answers for this cryptographic coupon (and all subsequent 2019 cryptographic coupons) will occur upon solving or January 1, 2020, whichever occurs first. The game is still afoot.
